DELI LITES are currently recruiting for a NPD Technologist for our busy Technical Department.

As NPD Technologist you will support and assist the NPD and Technical Manager to develop sandwiches, salads and other food to go products. The post-holder will also have a close liaison with the all departments in order to co-ordinate and drive NPD of all products throughout from concept to launch process.

**Your Duties**:

- Liaising with key stake holders to develop and introduce new products / ranges to the business e.g. sandwiches, salads, dressinG
- Analysing the development involved in product development. To include:

- _concept development_
- _costings_
- _kitchen and pre-production trials_
- _establish shelf life_
- _customer product specifications_

**Overseeing the integration of new products. To include**:

- _brand development_
- S_upplier approval / new raw material approval_
- _quality assurance_
- _allergen requirements_
- _packaging and labelling - ingredient declarations, shelf life, allergen requirements_
- Ensure product samples sent to customers have been made as required and according to specification and customer requirements / Deli Lites Requirements prior to despatch.
- Ensure all products are developed in line with NPD procedure and any customer codes of practice as required.
- Issuing and updating production specifications as and when required
- Monitoring of existing and new products to ensure product safety and quality meets product specifications.
- Assist Technical to ensure WIP allergen information and risk assessment information is maintained up to date on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure that customer specifications are completed. To include updating and reviewing as and when required.
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure the best quality of ingredients are used for new products.
- Cost comparison of raw materials from different suppliers to achieve most competitive selling price.
- Keep up to date with best practice in product development processes, food technology and nutritional analysis.
- Keep up to date with changes in food safety legislation and communicate need for change to relevant departments as required.
- Supporting research projects undertaken by NPD or Technical managers.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Proven Experience in a similar role/environment

- Understanding of HACCP
- Proven experience in NPD Role

- Min BSc in Food related Degree
