About the Role
- At our Ely site we are looking to recruit Forklift Truck drivers in our factory. You will work within a team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the Logistics Manager. You will be responsible for the moving of products around the factory, unloading and loading of vehicles and supporting the production team with the movement of board.
- Health and safety is a very important aspect within our business and you will be accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating within the DS Smith safe systems of work guidelines.
- As a Forklift Truck driver, you will be responsible for the daily vehicle checks ensuring that the Forklift truck is in good working order, and you report any maintenance issues. While working in the factory it is your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings and adhere to the workplace transport guidelines as set out by the company.
- The role requires you to work with a variety personnel within your area of production.
- About you- Experience preferred but not essential as a Forklift Driver as full training will be given.-
- Experience preferred but not essential for the loading and unloading different types of pallets and working in a manufacturing environment.-
- Working knowledge of good health and safety practices-
- Proven experience of working towards KPI’s and deadlines within a fast-paced environment-
- Effective communication skills; both written and verbally-
- Excellent attention to detail-
- Good Understanding of receiving stock and checking paperwork-
