**JOB SPECIFICATION**:
**Under guidance of the Merchandiser (M), the (AM) Assistant Merchandisers role is to ensure that their designated areas budgets are delivered alongside supporting the overall Merchandising team so that department targets are met, through analysis of range and product performance upon which to make day to day decisions on trading opportunities to maximise profit to achieve company goals.**

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- **(Main Duties)**_

**Planning**
- Supporting the Manager in agreeing the strategy and targets for creating OTB and option planning for designated area
- Produce and analyse range performance to support Open To Buy process and lessons learnt documentation
- Under guidance of the Merchandiser reforecast Weekly Sales, Stock and Intake (WSSI) for designated area, making recommendations to mitigate risk and enhance opportunity to ensure terminal stock/over stocks are managed effectively
- Review core line performance with Merchandiser proposing potential discontinuation/ replacement of lines as necessary
- Ensure line cards are set up and maintained for all core styles, ensuring sales to stock ratios are balanced to maximise future sales plans and providing sales, intake and stock forecasts in line with business requirements
- Responsible for supporting Merchandiser by preparing buying documentation in readiness for buy meetings, Costlogs/Sizing ratios/Rate of Sale (ROS) indicators
- Ensure all buys, sign off meetings, Purchase Order creations are actioned and recorded in line with company calendar
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of seasonal range plan
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of allocation plans for in season /core product

**Trading**
- Review weekly trade packs for informing of delivery risk and opportunities to maximise sales and present findings in trade meeting
- Under guidance of Merchandiser identify opportunities through the season by providing season to date insight and commercial analysis of sales, margin, stock and cover to team and ensure all actions to improve sales are taken
- Working with merchandiser, provide the warehouse with allocation forecast to facilitate smooth and efficient product movement
- Work with Merchandiser to propose markdowns and seasonal promotions to maximise sales and manage inventory levels
- Ensure all allocations are sent out according to buying plan
- Review performance of styles making recommendations for changes to plans
- Under guidance of Merchandiser work with wholesale counterparts to maximise stock potential
- Hold weekly Ecom meetings to provide insight into performance, propose solutions to maximise sales growth and foster good relationships with the Ecom team
- Ensure intake is managed appropriately and any lateness communicated
- Provide support to the Allocators workload, priorities and development

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- Experience working at Assistant merchandiser level in a retail/planning & buying focussed role, ideally in Sport or Fashion
- Experience working across multiple channels including outlets
- Understanding of Open To Buy process and forecasting
- Experience in preparation of end of season markdowns and in season promotions
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Effective use of MS Word and advanced Excel skills Pivot tables/Look Ups/Retail formulae
- Highly analytical with ability to identify problems and solve issues
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create high quality, clear communications
- Good interpersonal skills, with strong ability to successfully interact with all stakeholders, at all levels
