**Valuation Controller - Product Control**
**London**
As a Barclays Valuation Controller - Product Control, you’ll validate the valuation of Barclays’ Trading Books and Records through the repricing of all Fair Value portfolios. In this role, you’ll administer the monthly calculation of the Prudent Valuation Adjustment and certain Fair Value Adjustments and work with Front Office and other Infrastructure colleagues to understand, challenge and ultimately validate Valuation judgements and methodologies. You will also be resolving ongoing observations from Central bank regulators and Auditors.

**What will you be doing?**
- Working to support the Asset Class Lead in achieving the overall purpose of the role and meeting daily, monthly and ad hoc deliverables
- Working with the London-based Asset Class lead to design, research and implement control methodologies that are associated with the more bespoke features of XVA-desk coverage
- Supporting other senior and more junior team members in providing timely and accurate responses and assistance, as necessary
- Helping to provide thought and work contributions to topics being covered by the Onshore Valuations team, which are often big ticket, interesting items, with significant impact and bearing
- Reviewing of offshore-based reporting output in order to enhance Quality Control of items described under the “Overall Purpose of the role”
- Working with the existing team on completing scheduled deep dive reviews into Valuation methodologies - owned by both Front Office and PC-Valuations
- Assisting the existing team in improving workflow through increased use of automation, existing available alternative tools and allocation and scheduling of tasks
- Determining whether the XVA coverage is sufficient and, secondly, emerging themes associated with risk managed by the XVA desk
**What we’re looking for**:
- Knowledge of products traded by the businesses covered by the team, including XVA adjustments related to Credit, Funding and Discounting risks
- Broad knowledge of general Financial Instruments and Markets would be preferable
- A solid grasp of a Valuation Control environment, i.e. what Policies and Standards are and how we achieve and demonstrate adherence to them
- Knowledge of another Control environment could be desirable
**Skills that will help you in the role**:
- General expertise with Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage and interpret large datasets will be a necessary skill, both in terms of manipulating it into a readable or presentable form and identifying anomalies
- Ability to communicate conclusions in a format that is clear and succinct, both verbally and in written format
- Ability to work quickly, sometimes while under pressure
