A position has arisen for the role of Chemotherapy Clinical Co-ordinator at Kings Mill Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with empathy, compassion, an excellent communicator & good problem solving skills. You will require high levels of tact and diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively to enable day to day management.

Within the role of a Chemotherapy Clinical Co-ordinator you will required to provide high quality administrative support to the chemotherapy specialist nurses and provide excellent patient care to all of those under our service.

**On a day to day basis this would involve**:

- General administration, receiving and managing incoming post and referrals.
- Booking patient appointments.

To work as a member of the oncology chemotherapy team, providing administrative support and coordination of the provision of high quality patient care for people receiving systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT).

Ensure that all appointments across the patient pathway from referral to discharge are booked in line with targets/standards. Undertake validation of the RTT Patient Tracking List.

Provide a patient centred and timely response to all telephone enquiries from patients.

Ensure all mail is sorted and correspondence dealt with in a timely fashion.

Investigate and take the appropriate action where pathways are incomplete to ensure that patients are receiving timely treatment and Trust information is robust following agreed on escalation procedures.

Confirm in writing, details of the agreed appointment dates, thus ensuring patients have all the information required for their outpatient visit.

Change and cancel Clinic appointments as appropriate and in accordance with the Trust Access Policy.

To provide general information and support regarding cancer and cancer services. A key aspect of the role involves daily direct and indirect communication (e.g telephone and face to face) with patients, relatives / carers, and other health care professionals. Signpost patients / carers to other sources of support as appropriate.

To provide level 1 psychological support to patients / carers (i.e effective information giving, compassionate communications and general psychological support), and referring patients who require level 2 support to the multi-professional team
