**Responsibilities**:
- Lead urban design and masterplanning projects from conceptual design to implementation, ensuring that projects meet client objectives and requirements while creating innovative and sustainable communities.
- Develop conceptual designs, layouts, and placemaking principles that enhance the quality and character of place.
- Collaborate with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders, including local authorities and government bodies, to ensure project success.
- Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies and research to inform design decisions and project recommendations.
- Work closely with planners, architects, engineers, and other professionals to integrate urban design principles.
- Prepare and present design proposals, Design & Access Statements, and presentations to clients and stakeholders to communicate project vision and progress.
- Stay informed of emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in the built environment while demonstrating self-motivation and interest in business development.
**Requirements**:
- Professional Degree in Architecture, Planning, Urban design, or Landscape Architecture.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in urban design, master planning, or related field.
- Knowledge of RIBA design stages and public sector planning process stages for new development.
- An up-to-date knowledge of current urban design, architecture and placemaking, practices, especially in relation to the climate emergency.
- Strong design skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional license or accreditation is desirable.
