The post holder will be required provide support, advice and guidance to Parens/Carers, Children and Young People and schools and Colleges in the delivery of the authorities duties of the requirements of the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018 (ALNET) Act, specifically the statutory duties placed on Local Authorities.
To support the cessation of the pre SEN system for pupils with Special Educational Needs to the new Additional Learning Needs system for Children and Young People with ALN.
To support all partners in removing barriers to learning so that all pupils, irrespective of their individual backgrounds, circumstances or difficulties, are able to derive the maximum benefit from their learning.
To support and challenge schools to ensure that the needs of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) pupils are fully met by working directly with schools, parents and partners.
