Freelance Exhibition Stand Builder

LoveExpo are an award winning exhibition stand contractor based in Blackpool,
Lancashire.

Due to continued expansion we are looking to build up a small team of **FREELANCE** exhibition stand builders to assist our permanent team on the build and dismantle of exhibition stands across the UK, and occasionally in Europe.

You must be a good team member as you will work within a team under the supervision of a stand manager.

You need to hold a full driving license and be prepared to drive the company's 3.5ft box vans occasionally. You must have the ability to work accurately under pressure and work at a good pace to meet tight deadlines, Our stands are generally built to a maximum height of 4m so working on ladders is required so you must be comfortable and confident working at these heights.

The work involves travel and some unsociable hours including weekends and late evenings. Typical install locations include Manchester Central, Birmingham NEC/ICC,
London Olympia/Excel and Glasgow SEC.

The ideal applicant is someone in a current part time role or who is self employed but has days where they are free to do other work as the work will be sporadic. You will be added to our short list of freelancers and be given approx 3-4 weeks prior notice (more on occasions) for a potential job. You aren’t expected to accept every job as we appreciate you may have other commitments. You will have the opportunity to accept work on a job by job basis, but once accepted, we do need you to commit to it and be 100% reliable.

The majority of the time you will be required to travel to the exhibition venue the day/ evening before the build period starts as there are often tight schedules to meet for completion of the builds so we like to be onsite early morning (7am/8am) on the first day of the build period. These travel times are paid at an hourly rate of £20 per hour.

A typical job would therefore involve an afternoon of travel to the location of the show, 2 days of stand build and return to base. Then return to the show 2-3 days later to take down the stand late into the evening and return it to base. So in total a typical project would involve 1/2 day travel and 3 or 4 full days of work.

**Pay**

£18-20 per hour depending on previous experience, or a set daily rate can be negotiated.
All travel related costs and accommodation will be covered by Love Expo and you will be given a daily subsistence allowance which may vary slightly depending on the location of the work.

**Key skills/experience**
- Previous experience of working within the live events and exhibition industry is desirable but not essential.
- Full driving license. Be prepared to drive a 3.5ft van and rental Vans
- Ability to read, interpret & install aluminium modular exhibition stands using technical drawings - full training provided and you will always be part of a team.
- Basic DIY skills in maintenance and electrical works and working with hand tools.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures including health and safety.
- Vehicle loading and unloading using tail lifts.
