School Nurse

School Nurse - 8am - 4:30pm - Monday-Friday - Term time only (35 weeks per year)

Leading Independent day school, requires an experienced RN or RSCN to provide a clinically effective, high quality nursing service to pupils and first aid care to all members of the school community.

Set within beautiful grounds, you will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4.30pm - 35 weeks a year. As school nurse, some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Nursing
- To provide first aid and emergency care and treatment as necessary
- To provide confidential counselling and health advice as appropriate
- To manage the programme of immunisations
- Health Education
- Promote health education through the school population
- Teach first aid as appropriate
- Management
- Line management of all other members of the medical team and oversee their day-to-day work
- Administrative
- Maintain medical records accurately and confidentially
- Record dispensing of drugs following drug protocols
- Internal and External Liaison
- With parents, teaching staff and school health visitors

To fulfil the role of School Nurse you must be/have:

- Registered Nurse or Registered Childrens Nurse is essential
- Paediatric Nursing Experience or A & E Nursing Experience highly desirable
- Work calmly under pressure and respond positively to varying workloads
- Excellent communication skills
- An understanding and commitment to adhere to school policy on safeguarding
