Global Markets Compliance Officer (6 Month FTC) - London

**Job Description**:
Our client is looking for someone to take over primary responsibility for Business Compliance activities in the Global Markets area in London, primarily focusing on Commodities (GMC).Â
**Responsibilities**:
Spearheading compliance policies as well as coordinating and monitoring the effectiveness of compliance support for the relevant business within the framework of the overall compliance strategy and the Compliance strategy set by the UK Head of Compliance.Â
Deliver sound regulatory advice, as well as taking a proactive role in identifying potential compliance weaknesses and initiating measures to rectify them.
Developing, in conjunction with the Compliance Control team, an effective routine monitoring plan for the London Global Markets area.
Providing an effective training programme for the relevant London Global Markets businesses and any other designated London business.
Overall responsibility for designated London Global Markets, and any other designated business, activities that are currently booked in the UK, as well as those cross-border activities that take place in the UK, but are booked overseas.Â
**Requirements**:
Extensive knowledge of various compliance policies and procedures impacting London Global markets, particularly the UK and EU, but also AsiaPac and US (Dodd-Frank Act, Volcker Rule, MAD/MAR, MiFID II/R, EMIR, FATCA etc.)
Relevant experience working as business compliance in Commodities and experience in dealing with exchanges.
Previous exposure to other areas such as Derivatives, Credit, Fixed income, Equities business lines would be preferred.
