The shift pattern for this position is Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Protection Service as a Quality Improvement Advisor. The Public Protection Service provides advice, support and guidance to staff in NHS GGC on matters relating to Adult and Child Protection.

The Public Protection Service aims to achieve transformational change in the identification of risk and harm through the provision of safe, effective practice for unborn babies, children, young people and vulnerable adults. Through investment in continuous reliable implementation of safety processes we are committed to improving the quality of public protection care across NHSGGC. This includes the leadership and service management structures which drive and support achievement of NHSGGC Scotland Public Protection Assurance and Accountability Framework and NHS Greater Glasgow &Clyde Public Protection Strategy. The post holder will have a key role to manage and coordinate a portfolio of improvement projects that reflect local, organisational and national priorities across the domains of quality improvement.

The post holder will work with key stakeholders to ensure that public protection arrangements and practice across HSCPs and Acute Division are robust, systematic and founded upon evidence based, safe and effective practice. This post will work alongside colleagues in the Public Protection Service to provide expertise in approaches, resources and improvement modelling. The post holder will have a central role in leading on quality improvement that supports enhancement of public protection strategies. The post holder will provide direction and support for the implementation of evidence based practice and research activity within the area of public protection. The post holder will develop quality improvement capacity and capability within the Public Protection Service which enhances quality assurance approaches. The post holder will work with public protection team to design QI tools and develop QI projects/approach to learning lessons from SAERS and Learning Reviews. The post holder will develop reporting and monitoring on improvement methodologies, using data to review processes and outcomes of interventions, supporting spread and sustainability of improvement activity.
