EDF is the UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, the biggest supplier of electricity by volume in Great Britain and the largest supplier to British businesses.

During the course of this internship, you’ll learn from our industry-leading experts and gain valuable experience. You will become experienced in operating within a nuclear power plant.

**What is the Internship Placement?**

On this intern placement we will ask you to use data to suggest ways that organisations can operate more efficiently. You’ll gather and analyse data to develop and investigate potential solutions - including improvements to current data gathering and trending, systems and processes.

You’ll identify business goals, develop best practices for data collection, and analyse current processes so that they may be improved to the greatest extent possible.

This role will be for 6 weeks, over July and August - start date to be confirmed.

**What you can expect**:
There will be opportunities to be involved in a broad range of tasks, encompassing:

- Using data modelling techniques to identify ways in which an organisation can operate more effectively.
- Communicating with senior stakeholders in organisations to find out what they hope to achieve.
- Formulate ways for businesses to improve, based on previous research.
- Persuade internal and external stakeholders of the benefits of new technology or strategies.
- Oversee the implementation of new technology and systems.
- Run workshops and training sessions.
- Explore how the organisation is currently operating via research, which could include interviewing employees and collecting quantitative data.
- Proposing solutions to an organisation’s leaders and keeping them updated with progress.
- Creating documents to outline the proposed changes and the steps involved.

Exact experience gained varies between teams and assignments. You will be involved in a group project, collaborating to overcome a challenge faced by the project.

**Where you’ll work**:
This will primarily be based at our Sizewell B power station, although there will be opportunities to work from home.

**What you’ll need to apply**:

- Expected final grade of 2:2 or above in your degree discipline.
- Excellent analytical skills to analyse documents, data, user surveys, and workflows, with the aim of finding trends and potential solutions.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and diligent approach with a willingness to develop knowledge.
- Organised and methodical with confident communication skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
