Due to an internal restructuring an exciting opportunity has arisen for two BSc Degree Podiatry apprentices to join the team. We are looking for two dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals. The apprentices will be required to provide assessment, treatment and interventions for our high risk caseload within Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

These persons will work with a range of clinics, hospital and health centres and homes across Torbay and South Devon.

Ability to travel around the district as a car owner/driver is essential to be able to undertake home visits.

The post holder will have clinical responsibility for delivering high quality care to a caseload across the Torbay and South Devon area and will be working closely with other community healthcare workers and provider agencies within a variety of care settings including community clinics, domiciliary work, care homes and contribute to the development of the podiatry team.
- Be responsible for the management and treatment of a caseload of patients across a variety of locations within Torbay and South Devon area, providing a comprehensive assessment of podiatric need, relevant health education, planned podiatric care packages and referral to other health care professionals as required.
- To be committed to and undertake CPD, evidenced based practice and clinical rotation
- To provide high standards of treatment and professionalism and to continue to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care
- To undertake treatments as part of our fee paying service team

The podiatry department consists of 45 clinical comprising of Head of Service, Team Leads, Specialist podiatrists, podiatrists, assistant practitioners and clinical support staff. We also have 10 admin staff.

We aim to innovatively deliver first class lower limb and foot health preventative care across South Devon. We strive to achieve better outcomes for our patients whilst we also actively promote development opportunities for our staff.

You will be responsible for the management and treatment of a caseload of patients across a variety of locations within Torbay and South Devon area, providing a comprehensive assessment of podiatric need, relevant health education, planned podiatric care packages and referral to other health care professionals as required.

As a BSc Podiatry apprentice you will receive pay progression as you progress through the 3 year apprenticeship, further information regarding this can be found on the job description.
