The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, and the private sector through the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). These bodies together serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire. From transport to housing, from business growth to skills, the SYMCA has a great story to tell and this is an exciting time to join us.

In recent years significant funding has been secured through the Transforming Cities Fund and a devolution deal,

and further funding has recently been secured through the region’s City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement. As result we have a large and growing capital programme to deliver in support of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority Mayor’s 2040 vision for transport.

We are on the lookout for a Finance Business Partner to join our growing Finance Team based in Sheffield. Taking a true business partner approach, you will support our corporate functions - working closely with legal, human resources and head office teams leading on all things Finance related.

As an effective Business Partner, you will take the lead and provide an advisory service across the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, through the delivery of proactive financial support to budget holders to enable continuous improvement and performance. The role also involves strategic development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring compliance with statutory and organisation financial regulations including best practice.

You will be comfortable working within the public sector, be confident in your ability as a Finance Business Partner coupled with a supporting qualification.
