To promote the aims and objectives of the Setting;
- To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the base room, ensuring registration and legislative requirements are complied with at all times
- To be a key holder for the nursery
- To problem solve any issues that rise within the nursery setting
- To promote the high standards of the Setting at all times to parents/carers, staff and visitors;
- To assist the managers in showing parents/carers around the Setting facilities and sending out information when required
- To ensure the Setting maintains a high standard of physical and emotional care;
- To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times;
- To assist with the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development;
- To assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment;
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children and ensuring staff compliance and awareness;
- To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times;
- To ensure the Setting maintains a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development;
- To ensure confidentiality of information received;
- Liaise with parents/carers, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given;
- To liaise with outside agencies as required;
- To attend monthly staff / planning meetings and training sessions outside working hours;
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Setting manager;
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe Setting policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm.
- To effectively deliver and plan using the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members)
- To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
- To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, summer fayre, etc
- To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
- To support nursery assistants, students and volunteers.
- To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
- To maintain and monitor our tapestry online learning journey portal
- To assist staff in the carrying out observations and evaluations of children’s activities, overseeing the completion of summative assessments and completing cohort tracking documents and data analysis each term
- To observe and update key children’s learning journey portal
- To monitor children’s development and report any concerns to nursery management
- To oversee staff observations and monitoring of children’s development
- Formulate and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with the Manager;
- Record accidents in the accident book. Ensure the manager has initialled the report before the parent receives it;
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe Setting policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm.

**Salary**: £17,039.53-£22,000.00 per year
