**Essentials**:

- Any knowledge of mechanical items is an advantage
- To demonstrate the ability to organise own work in a diverse workshop environment.
- Working in an industrial environment would be an advantage.
- Numeracy & Literacy - will be required to handle paperwork when presenting a vehicle for its annual test.

**Job Role**:

- To carry out general cleaning of workshops and associated areas. Cleaning of vehicles prior to annual test and when required. Movement of vehicles within the depot car park. Assisting other workshop staff as required. To assist DVSA Test staff during the vehicle test at the Authorised Test Facility (ATF). Collection of vehicle parts from suppliers, Delivery and collection of PPE.
- To assist with the operation of the Engineering Workshop (and associated areas) to keep the area clean, tidy and safe. With associated driving duties as required, to meet the operational requirements of Redbridge Transport and Vehicle Maintenance Section.
- To assist if possible technicians when requested
- Will be required to handle paperwork when presenting a vehicle for its annual test.
- The typical working day would start by emptying waste bins (liquids and solids), and then sweep the workshop floor (and associated areas stores / immediate year area). A power floor wash machine would be used for the more stubborn /soiled areas but by the end of a working week the whole 3000m2 of workshop will have had a power wash / scrub.
- Can assist Technicians at roadside breakdown of one of the fleet vehicles/ Plant (two or three times per week)

Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: From £13.30 per hour
