**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to serve as a 1:1 Tutor/Learning Support Assistant for a visually impaired student who is pursuing A-level studies in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry. This position requires a deep commitment to providing tailored educational support, fostering independence, and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Subject Mastery**: Provide comprehensive support in Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, assisting the student in understanding complex concepts, solving problems, and mastering course content. Offer clear explanations and demonstrations using tactile, auditory, and other accessible methods as necessary.
- **Assessment and Feedback**: Regularly assess the student's progress and comprehension through various methods, including verbal quizzes, written assignments, and hands-on activities. Provide constructive feedback to reinforce strengths and address areas needing improvement.
- **Study Skills Development**: Guide the student in developing effective study strategies, time management skills, and organizational techniques to optimize learning outcomes. Offer assistance with note-taking, exam preparation, and academic research.
- **Assistive Technology Integration**: Facilitate the use of assistive technology tools and resources to enhance accessibility and support independent learning. Familiarize the student with screen readers, magnification software, tactile diagrams, and other assistive devices as needed.
- **Collaboration and Communication**: Maintain open communication channels with the student, parents/guardians, teachers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of support strategies and academic goals. Collaborate with educators to modify curriculum materials and accommodations as required.
- **Emotional and Social Support**: Provide a supportive and encouraging environment that fosters confidence, self-esteem, and academic growth. Offer emotional support and guidance to help the student navigate challenges and overcome obstacles related to their visual impairment.
- **Accessibility Advocacy**: Advocate for the student's rights and accessibility needs within the educational setting, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

**Salary**: £15.00-£21.00 per hour
