Norwich, United Kingdom Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We're looking to appoint an Associate Director of Programmes and Improvement; this post will play a significant role in our improvement journey and delivery of change. The executive and senior leadership teams are actively shaping the future strategy and vision for change, delivering a comprehensive improvement programme to bring about sustained and meaningful benefits for service users and carers, staff and local communities.

Reporting to Kathryn Ellis, Executive Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships, you can expect strategic ambition, autonomy and opportunities for development. Kathryn values strategic thinking, purpose and ability to translate a vision for improvement into positive action and collaboration with partners. She is hugely passionate about the opportunity for change and system-wide collaboration to deliver improvements in mental health care for service users and carers.

The Associate Director of Programmes and Improvement is a newly created senior leadership role to support the Executive Director and wider senior leadership team in the delivery of the Trust’s approach to programmes, improvement and change planning and delivery.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Development of a structured, methodical and consistent approach to programme delivery, and ensuring that working principles are applied in a proportionate and tailored way that is engaging and impactful.
- Effective programme oversight of strategic, complex change to ensure that the Trust’s strategic change portfolio delivers the Trust Strategy and broader Integrated Care System ambitions.
- Working with the Executive Director and other senior leaders to ensure successful delivery of the Trust’s next phase of its Improvement Programme.
- Delivering programme activities to develop the Model of Care, work to engage staff in the development of culture, partnership working to deliver improvements in access to and delivery of services and long-term plans to ensure clinical, operational and financial sustainability.
- Through the development of an improvement pipeline and programme life cycle ensure opportunities for improvement and benefits realisation are actively sought out, harnessed and evaluated.
- Being a role model for programme delivery in a way that is culturally sensitive, balancing method and rigour with pragmatism and collaboration.

Your background is not important to us. You will be driven by change, improvement and effective programme delivery. You will have a passion for excellence, able to maintain oversight and delivery of large-scale strategic change in a complex environment in a calm and measured way.

You will have an extensive track record of successful programme delivery, monitoring and governance that has delivered material and lasting improvements, both in quality and financial terms at scale. You will have demonstrable evidence of successful leadership of design, implementation and delivery of programmes and change governance in large organisations (We are open on background of experience). You will have proven ability to realise and evidence benefits, evaluate impact and demonstrate improved outcomes. Able to tailor your communication and reporting styles to articulate complex change programmes and activities you will be able to energise and engage stakeholders at all levels, acting as an agent of change and innovation.

This post will provide you with the opportunity to join an NHS Trust at a critical time in its improvement journey, leading the strategic planning function through a period of significant change. The chance to make a real difference to the lives of the employees and service users alike. For ambitious individuals there is also certainly a clear path for future career progression.

Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a generous pension, holiday entitlement and flexible working.
- PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS SUBJECT TO JOB EVALUATION*
