Required to work on the repair and refurbishment of railway carriages, you will be an experienced fitter with knowledge of engineering practices involving the installation of fasteners and fixings, preparation of steelwork and the repairs of mechanical equipment.

The work will undertake bespoke repairs to older type 'slam door' railway carriages, working to high standards of quality finish, involving carriage bodywork, doors and windows. Will be able to dismantle and rebuild components including the fabrication of new parts.

Experience with maintenance of commercial road vehicles would be an advantage as would steel pipe fitting, MIG welding and oxygen/gas burning.

A requirement will be to assist with brake systems, suspensions, vehicle couplers, maintenance of wheel bearings and general running gear, for which training will be given.

Must be capable of problem solving and using initiative with a flexible approach to undertaking a wide range of activities within a multi-disciplined workshop.

**Salary**: From £2,600.00 per month

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
