Bedfordshire Talking Therapies

Band 6 - Gateway Worker (RMN or other equivalent Core / Allied Health profession)

We are looking for a RMH or other equivalent Core / Allied Health profession with Mental Health experience to assist the single point of entry into BTT in ensuring that new referrals into the service are suitably risk assessed and when not suitable are referred to appropriate agencies. You will also be expected to provide support to clinicians with making appropriate referrals to secondary care mental health services and safeguarding teams. You will play a key role in enhancing interagency relationships and interface with these services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is moving into a new phase of development and expansion. Your ideas and creativity would be welcome in contributing to the delivery of an innovative service, which meets the needs of the local diverse community.

The post holder will assist the single point of entry into BWS in ensuring that new referrals into the service are suitably risk assessed and when not suitable are referred to appropriate agencies.

The post holder will also be expected to provide support to clinicians with making appropriate referrals to secondary care mental health services and safeguarding teams through the clinician of the day role.

Playing a key role in enhancing inter-agency relationships and interface, the post holder will be supported, where appropriate, to attend team meetings and deliver collaborative projects/interventions in identified settings as guided by the service’s needs. There will also be opportunities for direct clinical interventions and to provide supervision in the service.

Bedfordshire Talking Therapies (BTT) is an expanding IAPT service. We consistently achieve excellent recovery and reliable improvement rates, due to our focus on delivering flexible packages of care, designed to meet patient needs.

East London NHS Foundation Trust also provides Talking Therapies services in Newham, Tower Hamlets and Digital Service. The four services work together on joint projects, sharing good practice and opportunities for training.

1. Reviewing professional referrals to the Bedfordshire Wellbeing Service to ensure the service
is able to meet the needs of the service user.
2. To attend regular interface meetings to discuss cases that historically may have bounced
between services to ensure that there is a smooth transition for service users.
