**Job Title**:SEN Administrator - (Maternity Cover)

**Responsible to**:Assistant Headteacher/SENDCO and Deputy SENDCo

**Working Pattern**:37.5 hrs per week 08:00am to 4:00pm, term time only 38.8 weeks per year - including four non-pupil staff development days. Total hours 1455 per annum (0.754 FTE)

**Grade**:NJC Grade C Scale Point 4 -6, with corresponding salaries of £21,189 - £21,968. **Actual starting pro-rata'd salary is £18,295**,including holiday pay.

**Principal Accountabilities**:
1. Oversight of administration for all pupils with Special Educational Needs in the school

2. To provide professional and effective administrative assistance to the SENDCo/Assistant Head Teacher and the SEND Team.

3. To provide guidance and advice to colleagues and outside agencies, which may require giving a more detailed explanation of SEND.

4. To operate independently and accurately a range of readily understood rules, procedures and techniques.

5. To assist in the preparation of TA timetabling, whilst ensuring that appropriate cover is provided for students in a TA’s absence.

6. To have a clear understanding and knowledge of SEND and inclusion within a secondary mainstream educational setting and have practical experience in working within the environment.

7. To ensure that relevant documentation is compliant with SEN Code of Practice and LA recommendations for; Statutory Assessments, Annual Reviews and TAFs.

**Main Duties**:
**Administration**

Day to day effective communication, with colleagues, parents and agencies

Effective production of reports, and plans and meeting papers and other papers as required

Tracking data from primary school transfer and the administrative aspects of SEND Developing systems to combine academic attainment data and social information through Bromcom

Effective and compliant maintenance of the SEND data files, keeping accurate records to inform the Pupil Annual Level School Census (PLASC).

Maintenance of the Bromcom, SEND information.

Administering all interventions via provision maps.

To take minutes during SEN meetings.

Clerical support such as photocopying and filing and keeping records of all pupil and parent appointments with outside agencies.

To ensure deadlines are met.

a. Deadlines for Local Authority and SEN 0-25 Team returns must be met.

b. Vetting of confidential records for SEN data files for staff by July each year.

c. Design of all parental communications letters and also provision of parental guidance regarding in school systems which then alleviates pressure on SENCO/Heads of House/Tutors. d. All administration to allow Annual Reviews to run smoothly. Including the use of the EHC Hub.

**Communication and Liaison**

To act as the first point of contact for SEN within school for external agencies and other schools. Professional and effective communications with parents, carers, visitors and pupils.

To advise parents of Local Authority procedures relating to SEN 0-25 Team and Educational Psychologists, e.g. Annual Review procedures, CAMHS Referrals, Advisory Teachers, School Health and any other appropriate agencies.

To work within a team approach with Teachers and Teaching Assistants to provide efficient and effective administrative and clerical support.
