As a Yard Operative you will work as part of a team and be responsible for ensuring deliveries are on time and in full.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, you will work in a team supporting the efficient handling and management of steel materials. Other responsibilities include:

- loading/unloading deliveries and moving steel using Overhead Crane, Forklift/Sideloader
- steel material handling and packing into bundles prior to despatch using check and control sheets
- general labouring duties
- having a proactive approach to health, safety and environment and co-operate with Had Fab’s HSE Manager
- keeping yard area clean, tidy and free from hazards

**About you**:
As well as being organised and motivated, we would like someone who:

- has working knowledge on yard process, tools and equipment
- has great attention to detail and accuracy
- has energy, enthusiasm, positive and a can-do attitude
- has the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- preferably has structural steelwork experience
- can operate forklifts and other machinery safely and efficiently

**What we Offer**:

- Starting rate of £12.00
- 39 Hours Mon-Thurs 8.00am to 16.30pm, Fri 8.00am to 15.30pm. Overtime when available.
- 28 days holiday (24 days are paid at basic rate x 1.33)
- Additional 5 days after 5 years
