Front of House at The Carnegie Club
- Our Front of House department - despite its name - consists of both guest-facing and back-of-house roles.
- From taking reservations and booking activities, organising events, meeting and greeting our guests, and assisting them with whatever they might need throughout their stay with a touch of true Highland hospitality, our Front Hall Host, Reservations and Switchboard teams work closely together to deliver exceptional and seamless service to the Club’s 400 members and their guests.

About the role
- We’re looking for a friendly and diligent individual to join us as Office Receptionist on a full-time basis.
- Based in our Switchboard team, you’ll be responsible for operating the Club's main telephone switchboard where you will answer both internal and external calls.
- As the first point of contact for telephone calls at the Club, you will ensure that all calls are answered quickly and resolved efficiently - that could mean taking a request from a guest in residence that you pass on to the relevant department, transferring calls to your colleagues across the company, or liaising with external contacts.
- You’ll manage the post and parcels at Skibo, keeping meticulous records along the way.
- You’ll process remote and in-person payments, ensuring that transactions adhere to our internal procedures.
- You’ll be familiar with operational matters at the Club such as the daily arrivals and departures, special events and activities, enabling you to deliver an excellent service to our members, providing guidance and creating opportunities to up-sell when appropriate.
- You’ll also support the department with general administrative tasks, and assist our Personal Reservations Assistants and Hosts in their duties as required.

Who we are looking for
- You are a polite and dependable individual who has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to problem solving.
- You are an excellent communicator who remains calm under pressure.
- You thrive on providing high levels of customer service and enjoy working with colleagues from across a range of departments to ensure any guest requests are dealt with swiftly and to the highest of standards.
- You have strong computer skills (MS Office is a must, experience with databases or hotel systems is desirable) and are comfortable with general administration tasks.
- With a sharp eye for detail, you are professional and courteous and maintain high standard of personal presentation at all times.
- Flexibility and an ability to adapt to varying shifts is essential for this role.

What we can offer you
- Share of gratuities and service charge _see next section for details_
- 33 days annual leave
- Meals on shift are provided free of charge
- Uniform provided
- Access to staff benefit scheme
- For team members who otherwise would not be able to travel to Skibo, the Club offers a staff transport service. Details can be found** **here**.
- Complimentary use of staff gym and fitness classes
- Discounted estate activities including quad biking and horse riding
- Discount in the club shop
- 'Refer a friend' bonus scheme
- Staff events
