We are looking to recruit a Prescription Clerk who would support the clinical team in the receipt and preparation of repeat prescriptions for our non-dispensing patients. You will be the main point of contact for patient enquiries about their prescriptions. Full training will be provided for this role.

The Blandford Group Practice are passionate about providing good quality care to our patients. We deliver NHS services from three surgeries and employ a wide variety of healthcare professionals such as GPs, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Pharmacists and Paramedics. The Practice prides itself on being a friendly and welcoming team.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm.

**Hourly rate to be reviewed in line with minimum wage in April 2024.**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Understand and comply with the technical aspects of prescription preparation to ensure safe prescribing of medication
- Co-ordinate repeat prescriptions and provide a responsive, efficient service ensuring service targets are met
- Expedite urgent prescriptions to ensure patient safety
- Liaise with clinicians where necessary
- Respond to queries from patients, internal staff, and external partners in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure patient medical records are accurate and up to date

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people, their families, carers, partner agencies and stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and to promote collaborative practice with colleagues.
- Demonstrates personal accountability, emotional resilience and works well under pressure.

Education, Qualifications & Training
- Proficient in IT

Experience
- Experience of working with healthcare professionals and or previous experience in the NHS or social care or relevant field (desirable)
- Experience of partnership/collaborative working and of building relationships across a variety of organisations
- Experience of working with or in general practice (desirable)
- Some flexibility to work evenings and weekends may be required, as will the ability to travel to different locations at short notice
- Knowledge of general practice clinical systems, such as, EMIS and SystmOne (desirable)

Other
- Full UK driving license and access to own car.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
