Nursery Cook

To ensure the development, organisation, preparation and cooking of nutritious, home-made, freshly-prepared food; including vegetarian and other dietary requirements for children aged 6 weeks to 14 years; ensuring excellent practice at all times and assisting in the provision of the highest quality Childcare, Play and Early Years Education provision in a richly stimulating and welcoming environment.
- Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served according to the daily menu in line with the weekly plan
- Co-ordinate and deliver the serving of the midday meal, teas and snacks throughout the Nursery and the Zone
- Ensure correct storage of all food and associated items, including stock rotation in the kitchen and storage areas
- Work with the Staff for the ordering and purchasing of food items and other stock as needed
- Clean and maintain all dining areas, ensuring high standards of health and hygiene are maintained at all times
- Ensure the washing up and clearing of kitchen utensils, crockery and equipment
- Monitor all kitchen equipment; ensure any faults or issues are reported to the Operations Co-ordinator immediately
- 2 years’ experience of working as a Cook in a professional kitchen environment
- Some experience of working within a childcare setting (Early Years or Education)
- Sensitive to and aware of cultural issues and special needs
- Level 1 or 2 in food Hygiene, basic food and hygiene.
- Please note that it is a requirement of this role to hold a valid DBS check, and to complete a monthly declaration as to your suitability to work with children.

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
