Overview

The Business, Management and Marketing Group at Bangor Business School encompasses a range of disciplines including Organisational Behaviour, HRM, Strategy, Marketing, Operations Management, Entrepreneurship and Knowledge Management. The Group’s research focuses on the innovative use of management approaches and techniques as well as how organisations orchestrate their resources and processes to enhance their competitiveness.

We have received over £10 million in funding in recent years in leadership, social enterprise and green innovation. The research active group is committed to knowledge generation, transfer and commercialisation and is very keen to enhance its teaching and research in areas related to sustainability. We focus upon private, public and not for profit sectors in order to develop understanding of key domains within the broader sphere of management.

We have popular undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Business, Management and Marketing. All of our master’s degrees are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management and our MBA Environmental Management is also accredited by the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). We have a strong track-record in developing newly qualified PhDs into successful academics.

Purpose of the Job
- To deliver quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that engages students and delivers a transformative education.- To conduct scholarship at an appropriate level for the Grade of the post.- To provide pastoral and academic support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, including project and dissertation supervision.- To perform administrative tasks effectively as designated by the Head of School.Main

**Responsibilities**:
Grade 7

Teaching duties will include:

- Establishing a record of teaching excellence at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.- Planning, preparing and delivering lectures and seminars at undergraduate and postgraduate level, responding effectively to a variety of student backgrounds, learning styles and class sizes including delivery of quality modules that attract, engage and retain students.- Motivating students to proactively engage in their learning, and providing meaningful and constructive feedback on the quality of their work within agreed deadlines.- Examining and supervising/co-supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.- Keeping abreast of new professional, educational and related social, economic and technological developments.- Ensuring that all students are provided with a supportive learning environment and provide advice and guidance to individual students as their personal tutor;- Participating in Quality Enhancement procedures.- Contributing to the teaching and assessment of the School’s portfolio of HRM and Management modules and programmes at various levels according to the needs of the School, including designing, developing and delivery of a range of teaching materials for study at various levels.- Relating, wherever possible and practicable, teaching to the surrounding area by using the local environment to engage students.Administrative duties will include:

- Participating in student recruitment and induction procedures of the School.- Contributing to the School’s management and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.- Contributing to the marketing of programmes by participating in School and College link activities and other marketing initiatives.- Contribute to promoting the School and enhancing its external profile.- Taking responsibility for specific modules as appropriate, working towards ensuring optimum module evaluation results.- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to the working of the committee structures of the School and College.- Contributing to areas of academic-related administration.- Undertaking other administrative duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of School.Grade 8

Teaching duties will include, in addition to the above:

- Initiating and taking forward the development of new programmes that will appeal to a wider market.- Building links with external agencies to provide work experience for students that could lead towards them gaining an additional professionally recognised qualification.Administrative duties will include, in addition to the above:

- Contributing to the organisation of School conferences and/or research seminars.- Liaising and working with other staff positively within the College and the University, and other bodies as required.- Leadership of areas of academic-related administration;- Creating links with external agencies and employers.OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
