AsForensic Accounting Associate, you'll play a vital role in being the 'go to' providers of forensic accounting, investigation, business valuation and tax dispute resolution services within the SME and mid-corporate sector

About the role

This is a trainee role with an ICAEW approved training provider. You will be provided with the necessary training and support to attain the ACA professional qualification whilst also providing experience to become a forensic accountant and, ultimately, anexpert in this field.

You will have the opportunity to work very closely with a reputable expert and forensic accountant, and gain first-hand technical and commercial experience. You will be exposed to a range of cases/projects in the following areas:
Criminal defence
- Pre-trial criminal investigations (e.g. fraud, money laundering, theft, modern-day slavery)
- Post-trial confiscation proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002
- Civil investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (e.g. unexplained wealth orders, asset freezing orders, cash forfeiture etc).

Commercial disputes
- Partnership, shareholder and probate disputes
- Loss of profits and business interruption claims
- Warranties/SPA disputes
- Completion accounts disputes

Matrimonial disputes
- Company and share valuations
- Forensic analysis/investigation to identify income and assets
- Tax implications on split of assets

Investigations
- Tax investigations
- Accounting investigations
- Fraud investigations

**Responsibilities**:
Use forensic accounting tools to convert and interrogate data
- Conduct research for use in cases/projects (e.g. researching Companies House, Land Registry and other subscription based source of information)
- Verify of data to source documentation
- Conduct financial review and analysis and advising the forensic accountant on patterns and areas of further investigation
- Basic financial modelling
- Verbal and written communication of findings
- Prepare financial information and analysis for use in Court cases and board meetings
