The Role

A job has become available for an Electrical & Instrument Technician at a reputable engineering business based in Oxfordshire. The position will involve primary responsibility for troubleshooting, repairing, supervising installation, and commissioning ofelectrical systems and electrical documentation. The electrical and instrument technician devises, selects, sets up, and operates electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operational and environmentaltesting of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translates test data for engineering personnel.

Duties &Responsibilities
- Write/Develop and maintain SOP's for maintenance and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and instrumentation
- Train new electrical and instrument technicians
- Maintain electrical equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Installs and supports installation of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
- Installs conduit and wiring for electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoots electrical and control systems.
- Selects, installs, calibrates, and checks sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry, and develops specifications for nonstandard apparatus according to engineering data, characteristics of equipment under test, and capabilities ofprocurable test apparatus.
- 3 years experience as an Electrical & Instrument Technician
- Driving licence and ability to travel - Essential
- Master electrician license and associates degree in instrumentation or electrical related field preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the UK without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
- Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.

Desirable
- Five years' experience as an electrical and instrument technician in a manufacturing environment
- Emergency response certification
