**Overview**:
The Housing Team are looking for a **Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer** who will play a key role managing the council’s temporary accommodation schemes.

**About us**:
We have just completed and opened a new Temporary Accommodation Scheme adding to the Councils Portfolio of self-managed Temporary Accommodation.

**About the role**:
Your role will be to act as Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer within the Council’s Housing Options & Supply team, reporting to the Private Rent and Temporary Accommodation Team Leader. You will be a senior Officer overseeing the councils Temporary Accommodation schemes initially in the Wycombe area, with flexibility to provide support to the wider temporary accommodation team, as required. The role will provide line management and senior technical guidance to staff within the scheme and wider team on matters surrounding tenancy management, building safety and safeguarding. The postholder may have a background in housing management, property management, homelessness or facilities management or combination of relevant experience to be effective in this role.

The role will work across the service, particularly homelessness, finance and the wider Housing Options and Supply team and will work very closely with several internal and external stakeholders on matters of building and resident safety, repairs, and maintenance, rent accounting, homelessness advisors, adult social care, support providers and a broad range of other stakeholders. You will have experience, or a solid understanding, of the council’s homelessness duties and how this role interlinks with other service areas.

You will work closely with the management team to define and develop processes and procedures for new schemes, ensuring that the council’s risk is measured and managed and that resident safety is always paramount. You will have a shared responsibility to work with the management team to continue to develop, manage and preserve relationships with all stakeholders, to assist in financial monitoring and payments, manage incidences, initiate repairs and to manage other officers working on the scheme as their direct line manager.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- To act as line manager, coach and mentor to officer(s) within the scheme and wider team, reporting to the Team Leader where required. To assist with recruitment and to be responsible for the coaching for performance, absence reporting, induction and line management of direct reports.
- Responsible for building safety, safeguarding and placement of homelessness clients accommodated under its duties. Issuing of licences and notices and managing the rent accounting processes to safeguard the financial position of the council. Managing rent and service charge arrears and representing the council in matters relating to possession proceedings in court.
- To ensure that business continuity planning is reviewed, updated, and amended as required and that all risk assessments are up to date and clearly understood. Including ensuring that all fire procedures, records, including PEEP’s, are undertaken, and appropriately recorded and that all health and safety frameworks are adhered to and recorded appropriately.
- To provide senior oversight and technical guidance in relation to tenancy issues, safeguarding, ensuring information is handled sensitively and is recorded on the council’s software system on each occasion.
- To attend case conferences, complex case panels and represent the service at multiagency or development meetings both internally and externally as required.
- To deputise for the Temporary Accommodation and Private Rent Team Leader, where required.
