An exciting, start-up business developing sustainable, carbon neutral fuels/materials is currently recruiting for an R&D Scientist to join its team in Oxford on a permanent basis. As an R&D Scientist, you will play a vital role in the complete set-up andmaintenance of catalysts - whilst also assisting with research and development activities.

This role will suit a Chemistry degree qualified graduate coupled with industrial R&D experience - ideally working within a chemical laboratory.

**R&D Scientist responsibilities**
- Testing, fault finding, repair and maintenance of equipment
- Preparing materials, mostly catalysts
- Evaluating catalysts performance
- Analysis experimental data and writing experimental reports
- Assisting research using analytical equipment and techniques
- Ensuring good lab practices including health & safety
- Assisting Chemist/Chemical Engineer in safety and maintenance issues

**R&D Scientist requirements**
- Degree qualification in Chemistry or closely related.
- Industrial experience operating within an R&D chemical laboratory.
- Experience of maintenance and fault finding of equipment
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations and procedures
- Good planning, team, communication and organisational skills
- A positive, can-do, attitude with a willingness to accept responsibility
- A flexible approach and the ability to communicate at all levels
- Able to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team
- Experience of risk assessment, COSHH, Safe Systems of Work
