What is planning?
Behind every community are built and natural environments which shape the way we live our lives. Who determines how our homes are built, our cities are structured, our green spaces are maintained, and our local areas are linked together? Whether it’s our commute to work or our ability to cope with climate change, planners help to shape communities and protect the environment.

Pathways to Planning is looking to find and upskill graduates who may not have been aware of what a career in planning offers, but who have the core competencies necessary to succeed as a planner. Joining us on Pathways to Planning you will gain experience across multiple aspects of planning, based in our Development Management team. You will be mentored within the team and supported through an introduction to planning course provided by the national Pathways to Planning team. You will undertake a funded master’s course or apprenticeship in planning with our support. Once you have finished your studies, you will be on track to become a fully accredited planner.

This is a career graded position, which offers the opportunity to progress as your skills and experience develop.
