**Position Summary**

The Business Engagement Advisor role will be key in helping us to effectively deliver our new programme Minority Business Matters, part of a £30M funded portfolio of organisations providing business support across the Greater London area, part of the UK Government Levelling Up agenda.

Minority Business Matters is a partnership programme, delivered in partnership by MSDUK and Heart of the City, a responsible business charity. The programme supports at each stage of the business lifecycle (early through to mature), and has been developed to help Ethnic Minority Businesses (EMBs) in London access new business opportunities with global corporates and London Anchor Institutions looking to diversify their supply chains.

The Business Engagement Advisors will be the first point of contact for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), located in London, looking to access business support. The Business Engagement Advisor will build a deep understanding of the SME support ecosystem, in addition to our own support programme Minority Business Matters. Using a diagnostic process, the Engagement Advisors will curate or signpost the correct support pathway, based on the individual business needs. Where the criteria for our own programme is met, the Engagement Advisors will ensure that the business enters the programme at the correct level of support within the core pillars of Accelerate, Grow, Sustain. Engagement Advisors will then ensure that regular contact is made with our participating businesses, to ensure that they maximise the benefits of the programme, and continue their journey through the programme, in a way that best suits their own business needs, ensuring a personalised customer journey experience for each participant.

**Key Responsibilities Framework - This is just an overview and other responsibilities may be included**
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the small business support ecosystem in London and be able to identify and communicate effectively appropriate pathways for small business.
- Conduct through diagnostic process for EMBs and provide clear pathway for accessing support (including, where relevant, into Minority Business Matters).
- Ensure participating businesses on Minority Business Matters are within the programme criteria parameters.
- Understand the customer journey for Minority Business Matters, and ensure participating businesses access the right support at the right time.
- Work with the Contract Manager to ensure findings and feedback are recorded in a consistent and timely manner and used to make improvements.
- Follow up all inbound enquiries with one-to-one meetings/in-depth calls.
- Regularly contact participating businesses on Minority Business Matters, to ensure that they are progressing within the programme, and accessing all relevant support (both within the programme, and in the wider business support ecosystem).
- Identify and attend networking events as guests or speakers to drive lead generations for Minority Business Matters.
- Customer Journey
- Good understanding of London SME needs and match to existing business support.
- Good understanding of EMB needs to ensure curation of effective pathways for participating businesses on Minority Business Matters.
- Solid account management skills, to ensure participating EMBs maximise their experience and opportunities on the Minority Business Matters programme.
- Ensure evolution of diagnostic process used at the start of the customer journey, in conjunction with programme team.
- Ensure all evolving opportunities for participating businesses are communicated at the right time to the right businesses.
- Follow up all enquiries into the programme with one-to-one contact.
- Ensure regular programme of contact with participating EMBs, capturing what works, what does not, and feedback to the programme team.

- Work with the Contract Manager to ensure outcome evaluation methods are continually deployed and logged per participating business.
