RPS is looking for a **Fish Ecology Consultant (Senior/Principal) **to support our portfolio of high-profile offshore wind projects in Scotland, the rest of the UK and internationally. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based in Chepstow, Edinburgh, Woking or London (home working can be considered). We have flexible working opportunities, including part time roles, to ensure a balance of family and working life.

We are at the forefront of the industry - delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments including offshore wind farm developments. Our experience includes 20 years at the forefront of the industry, working across the UK, wider Europe, America, Australia and Asia.

When you join RPS, you’ll become a member of a deeply experienced marine consenting and environment team who have been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) consultant for some of the industry’s major “firsts”. These include the world’s largest offshore wind farms: Orsted’s Hornsea One, Two and Three, and Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm SSE’s Berwick Bank. We are also at the forefront of supporting the offshore wind industry through Round 4 and ScotWind.

**What you’ll be doing**

As a Fish Ecology Consultant you will be supporting the delivery of large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland by acting as technical lead and working with our extensive team of technical specialists and project managers as well as client teams and regulators. You will work with our project managers to ensure all technical inputs related to fish and shellfish ecology, in particular EIA chapters and HRA inputs, are managed within our financial plans, project programme and to our client scope. You will coordinate the compilation of fish and shellfish ecology reports (and other marine ecology reports, as appropriate) and undertake technical reviews of these. You will also supervise processing of data and modelling, as appropriate, and will be supporting and mentoring junior colleagues on their development in this area.

We have exciting plans to expand our support to the global renewables sector, with offshore wind as a key focus area of this initiative. As a member of our team, you will work with some of the industry’s brightest and most experienced talent to deliver projects for the industry’s major energy developers. And, as we and our clients continue expanding Internationally, you’ll also have an opportunity to support the delivery of their portfolios internationally.

**Who we’re looking for**
- ** **You’ll have a thorough understanding of fish and shellfish ecology, including experience of undertaking EIA for major energy infrastructure projects in the UK or overseas.
- Applicants with experience of working in other offshore industries (e.g. Oil & Gas) or onshore energy infrastructure projects would also be welcomed.
- You’ll have deep expertise in leading and coordinating the production of documentation related to the fish ecology impact assessments.
- You will have experience in advising stakeholders through all stages of project delivery.
- You will hold a post-graduate qualification in a relevant ecology or biology discipline.
- You will be working towards chartership status of a relevant professional institute.
