We are looking for an experienced, forward thinking Transport Coordinator to complement our strong team based in Longcroft. Working in collaboration with the Transport Manager, the role is responsible for effectively planning driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers’ hours legislation.

As the Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

- Report Vehicle/Trailer defects and escalating to the transport manager
- Ensure legal compliance by keeping tracker of working time directive for the driver workforce
- Coordinating CPC driver records
- Ensure customer demand is met by proactively managing driver resource Vs vehicle requirements
- Upkeep of vehicle allocation
- Staff absence
- Driver holiday request submissions
- Assisting Transport Manager with interview process for drivers
- Management of driver expenses
- Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc
- Increasing staff retention and maintaining good morale, reporting any driver’s issues or concerns to management.
- Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, adhering to all health & safety/ safe systems of work

**What experience will I need?**

As the Transport Coordinator, you will have a proven track record within the Transport and Logistics Industry and will thrive in a fast paced, challenging environment.

You will have strong IT Skills with particular experience in Microsoft word, Excel, and Outlook and ideally have an understanding of transport in-house systems, like Big Change and Syrinx.

Time management is essential for this role, due to the pace and daily obstacles so this role would suit a person who thrives for a challenge.

Ideally, you will have an understanding of Tachograph legislation and EU Drivers House and WTD Legislation.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
