We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. We use a Signs of Safety practice model and approach which ensures the voice of the child is at the heart of everything we do. The corporate parenting service is made up of: children in care, care leavers, contact service, children with disabilities, occupational therapy for children and young people transitioning to adulthood (up to 25 years with an Education, Health and Care Plan, EHCP). We work with children and young people in need of our help under section 17 and protection under section 47 of the Children Act 1989.

About the role

The Support Officer is responsible for undertaking administrative duties, working in a team supporting the staff and liaising with service areas within the directorate to ensure that work is completed on time and to the expected standards. While predominantly assigned to CYPDS in the Corporate Parenting Service the role will be flexible, helping other teams in the service on projects and priorities.

We expect the Support Officer to act as a Digital Champion to support digital solutions for colleagues and managers. This role is perfect for those who have strong admin and technology experience to undertake a range of functions that may include; preparing and organising meetings, data collection, processing workflows, dealing with internal and external customers and
providing a high quality customer experience. This role may have some line management responsibilities of junior officers.

About you
- Educated to GCSE level C or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English
- Evidence of continued professional development

**Skills and experience**
- Significant experience of working in a support capacity providing a wide range of tasks, preferably as a senior officer
- Experience in line management of staff
- Experience of accurately recording and inputting data/financial information within agreed timescales and providing statistical reports
- A intermediate/advanced knowledge of using a wide range of MS Office or Google packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of project management support
