**Job summary**:
We are looking for a capable, forward-thinking professional to manage our business operations with a view to continuous improvement for the Government’s Protective Security Centre, responsible for making the organisation work as efficiently as possible. Previous security experience is not necessary, but a drive to make processes, systems and structures as effective as they possibly can be is.

We’re looking for an experienced individual who is used to leading teams, coordinating workstreams, delivering effective business enabling functions and has the imagination and drive to make them better. You will be a critical part of the Protective Security Centre’s journey as it progresses from start-up to mature business, so knowledge of change management, business analysis and revenue generation is an advantage.

The Protective Security Centre delivers services, capability-building and thought leadership to drive down the security risk to government.

It works with clients across government to understand their security profiles and build bespoke support plans to address their security needs. We know that our clients know their risk areas better than anyone. We blend that local knowledge with our cross-government insights to deliver tailored support that meets client needs, helping them access best practice from across the security sector.

We are one of five Government Security Centres and provide security advice and consultancy services to government departments. We are comprised of two consultancy teams and an operations team, supported by communication and engagement and business support functions. The consultancy provides expert protective security advice in partnership with the National Technical Authorities (NTAs) and the Government Security Group. Our operations team delivers personnel security and information handling services to a wide range of public bodies.

**Job description**:
The right person will be given the autonomy to design and take forward improvements to the Protective Security Centre’s internal processes and functions, creating a strong and efficient capability for the consultancy team leaders to drive down the security risk to government and generate revenue from. You’ll lead the end-to-end change management lifecycle for the Protective Security Centre. You will give guidance to other managers, helping them to ensure successful implementation and adoption, and manage the benefits of change.

In line with HO Hybrid Working policy, this post can be based at any of the locations listed and there will be flexibility to adopt a hybrid working pattern which would see the post holder spend 40% of their week in the office, with the remainder working from home.

This role is full-time only, due to business needs.

**Person specification**:
Your main day to day responsibilities will be:
Growing a strong internal business support capability within the Protective Security Centre. In essence, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Protective Security Centre runs smoothly and is optimised to deliver the outputs the consultancy team leaders seek.

Delivering the Protective Security Centre’s business improvement programme and identifying new opportunities for continued improvement.

Leading the Protective Security Centre’s Change Management activity, fostering the use of best practice Change Management standards, tools and processes.

Developing and maintaining an effective performance management system and associated KPIs and metrics.

Building effective partnerships with other business enabler and change management teams across the Home Office, sharing best practice.
