**Job Title**:Accounts Assistant

**Reporting to**:Finance Manager
**Scope**:Clarke Energy Ltd
**Location**:Knowsley (hybrid working available)
**Job Purpose**:To provide general support to the Accounts department team
**Majority of time spent**:Processing purchase ledger invoices for and maintaining account control of our main supplier.
**Responsibilities**:
- Purchase ledger:
- processing high volume of purchase ledger invoices (mainly Innio and Waukesha invoices)
- reconciling purchase ledger balances with supplier statements
- dealing with queries on a daily basis, liaising with internal and external contacts to resolve invoice queries in a timely manner
- housekeeping of supplier ledgers - ensuring payment allocations are complete, contacting suppliers for missing invoices, and filing of invoices
- monthly Innio MSA cleardown and reconciliation
- accurate and timely processing of weekly payment runs of multi currencies
- Expenses:
- collating, checking and processing of employee expenses; ensuring transactions claimed are in accordance with the company’s expenses policy
- reconciliation of employee expenses to company credit card statements
- Other adhoc duties to assist the Accounts department
**Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills**:
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel/Office
- Confident user of vlookups
- Good knowledge of accounting packages - Microsoft Navision would be advantageous
- Study support available

The role requires the job holder to demonstrate they are/can:
- Experience of entering high levels of data efficiently and accurately, with close attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of a rapidly growing team and company
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take accountability of own role
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritise to meet deadlines without close supervision
- Ability to build relationships, both with suppliers and internally, using excellent communication skills
- Flexible and willing to do whatever is required to get the job done
- Willing to challenge when behaviours that do not support the Clarke Energy way
**Essential**:
- Computer skills - Microsoft Excel/Office in particular confident user of vlookups
- Previous experience of working in a busy and demanding office environment.
**Desirable**:
- Experience of accounts office functions and accounting packages - Microsoft Navision would be advantageous
