Our client is an instantly recognisable local employer that, due to continued expansion is looking to hire an experienced Accounts Assistant, who has experience in Purchase & Sales Ledger, Bank Reconciliation & VAT

To be successful in this post, you'll need to have previous experience in a similar role, specifically where you have been responsible for Purchase & Sales ledger invoice processing, liaising with suppliers, supplier statement & bank reconciliation.

**Key duties**:

- Purchase Ledger: Computer processing of supplier invoices and payment of suppliers.
- Sales Ledger: Computer generating of sales invoices.
- Timesheets: Processing of weekly timesheets.
- Cash & Banking: Assisting with the balancing of daily takings received. Transporting funds to and from the bank as required.
- Reconciliations: Bank, Control, and Intercompany accounts.
- Accounts Other: To assist in all other aspects of accounts preparation and processing that may be required. A working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and VAT (partial exemption) would be advantageous.

- Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Conduct double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Process and record accounts payable invoices and payments
- Assist with data entry tasks to input financial information into the system
- Support the general ledger accounting function by ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions
- Collaborate with team members to resolve any discrepancies or issues in financial records

Qualifications:

- Strong math skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry and analysis
- Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and practices
- Previous experience as an accounts clerk or similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliation
- Financial acumen to understand debits, credits, and basic accounting concepts
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data entry and analysis
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
