Job Introduction
**Job introduction**Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with special educational need? We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team at HMP YOI Bronzefield. As a SENCO, you will play a vital role in providing tailored education support and interventions to prisoners with diverse learning needs. In addition to this you will be responsible for giving neurodiversity support to all prisoners.

**Responsibilities**
- Assessing and identifying individual learning requirements of each prisoner with special needs.
- Developing and implementing personalised education plans to cater to everyone’s needs.
- Collaborating with teaching staff, counsellors, and other professionals to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of prisoners, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all learners within the prison setting.
- Keeping up-to-date records and maintaining clear communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification on special education or a related field.
- PGCE or QTLS
- Experience in working with individuals with special educational needs, particularly with a correctional or rehabilitation setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and support.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude towards prisoners/ learning challenges.
- Organisational skills to manage individualised education plans and maintain accurate documentation.
