**Transport Operations Manager**

**£35k - £38k + Benefits**

**Leeds**

Our client is medium sized, highly ethical, chilled food FMCG Distributor who are currently recruiting **for a CPC qualified Transport Manager** to manage the day to day operations at their main site in Leeds on a Monday - Friday basis. The transport operation is complex as it runs on a collections basis back to the DC ready for the outbound dailydrops.

They require an experienced manager who has run a fast-moving warehouse & transport operation with a keen eye on KPIs, team development, compliance / H&S.

**Role Summary**:
To manage, monitor and audit day to day activities, ensuring KPI metrics are met, achieved and reported on for the businesses distribution operation. Ensuring that all decisions, tasks and ideas put the customer at the heart of everything.

Whole of operations, all drivers and yard staff plus core staff around 10

Manage fleet of 45 x3.5 tonne refrigerated with 41 employed drivers.

Multi drop and going far up as Newcastle and Far down and Nottingham and then coast to coast

**Key Areas of Responsibility**:

- Manage distribution team members accordingly in line with the businesses strategic plans with a view to continuously improve and develop the teams skills.
- Monitor and adhere to company and legal compliance, utilizing relevant team members to assist.
- Assist in strict adherence to the operational budget while maintaining increased levels of service to all customers.
- Manage product, deliveries, quality and service within the distribution operation and site.
- Create and implement contingency plans and process for direct reports
- Continuously improve operational effectiveness with strategic guidance from SMT
- Accountability for the health, welfare and safety of all reporting team members
- Manage resource levels and skillset within the distribution operation
- Ensure all deliveries are completed within SLA and to all customers standards
- Manage all inbound and outbound deliveries
- Monitor and report all stock discrepancies
- Conduct full stock audits on a continuous basis and ensure good stock rotation practice
- Manage all fleet and assets to company and legal standards
- Ensure vehicle and driver compliance is met continuously
- Escalate issues in a timely manner to relevant senior staff
- Manage the allocation of work and duties, planning, motivating and coaching, absence & return to work interviews
- Ensure all company systems are used correctly in accordance with instructions of use.
- Ensuring that all legal requirements are adhered to with regards to transport legislation and that any offenses are communicated to drivers and action taken if appropriate.
- Deputize in the absence of Head of Operations as and when required
- Ensure safe keeping of all people and company property, adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and raise any risks to HSEQ Team
