**Business Development Executive - German Groups Department**

**Overview**:
Our client is an established and fast-growing Destination Management company with offices in the UK and Ireland. They are looking for a Business Development Executive for the German speaking Groups Department either in their Edinburgh office (hybrid role)or London office (remote). The successful applicant must have experience in the tourism industry and is fluent in English and German.

**Benefits and pay range**:

- £dependent on experience. Permanent, Full Time Position
- Mon - Fri 9:00 - 5:00pm
- Hybrid or remote working option, + excellent company benefits

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
- Business development for the German speaking Groups Department. This includes the preparation and costing of client group and series programs and liaising with the client to ensure their confirmed business
- Follow up with clients to convert offers and quotes into sales
- Generate quotations, follow up and confirm proposals in Tourplan
- Full utilisation of CRM system
- Desk based and in person sales and marketing activities across the UK, Ireland and Overseas marketplaces
- Cover support in other company departments as need arises
- Support with the supervision of any staff/trainees assigned to the area
- Assisting with environmental and responsible tourism initiatives

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- Fluency in written and spoken English and German
- Experience in a similar role/company is **essential**for this position
- Tourplan NX knowledge a distinct advantage
- Experience with groups or at DMC
- Knowledge of UK tourism industry products
- Good organisational skills with good attention to detail
- Team player that is able to work in a busy environment
- Being achievement focused and sales driven
- Strong communication skills
- Being client focused, friendly and diplomatic
- Very good knowledge of MS Office

**Desirable**:

- Relevant degree qualification in Languages, Business or Tourism - desirable but not essential
- Fluency in written and spoken French an advantage
