We’re accelerating our evolution to a Digital First Retailer by changing how we interact and support our Customers in this new retail landscape. Signet is a medium-sized retail organisationwith a mixed technology estate. Our business is constantly innovating and changing requiring us to create new capabilities.

As Solution Architect you’ll design Information Systems, participating in the whole systems lifecycle from concept through to retirement.Naturally creative - with an ability to design and communicate effectively to explain how systems work to a varietyof stakeholders. A problem solver, you’ll analyse why things aren’t working as intended and propose solutions. You’ll work across multiple projects simultaneously with responsibility for the solution design of large projects. Joining our friendly team, you’llwork within the wider Enterprise Architecture framework which sets overall standard and strategy which this role helps to develop.

**Responsibilities of this role will include**:

- Write solution architectures and solution designs
- Gain approval from Design Review Group
- Manage ad-hoc teams of technical contractors
- Responsible for the solution design on large (£1M+) projects
- Specify integration requirements (often for third-party integrators)
- Ensure during build the solution matches the design and make any adaptions as necessary
- Ensure solutions align with Signet’s architecture strategy and relevant standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS)
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to design solutions which match their needs

**About You**:

- Database theory
- Extensive experience of stakeholder management
- Strong communication skills, verbal, written and experience of presenting
- Integration technologies
- System design
- Modelling (e.g., UML)
- Networking
- UX design considerations
- Development
- Experience of integrating both old and new systems/platforms
- Able to describe and design cloud and on-prem technical architectures
- Able to describe and design common integration patterns and technologies
- Good presentation and communication skills: able to describe solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
