**Camp Assistant**

**Job summary**: Assist with activities of Follow the Rainbow’s Kids Yoga camps:
Kids Yoga, Kids Mindfulness, Arts & Crafts, Science, Literacy and
Maths.

Provide quality care within the framework of Follow the Rainbow’s policies and procedures

**Line manager**: Jessamy Dunn
**Working relationships**: Children attending the yoga camp and their parents/carers

Management

**Main duties include**:

- Assist Jessamy Dunn in setting up and delivering quality activities (Arts & Crafts, Science,

Literacy and Maths activities) opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
- Supervise a group of 9 children maximum at a time and ensure their safety, including when children need assistance when going to the toilet (especially the younger children).
- Setting up the activity space including moving yoga mats and arts & crafts, science and play equipment and resources.
- Ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met during snack times and lunchtimes.
- Administering first aid when/if necessary.
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with children, staff and parents/ guardians.
- Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
- Working within the framework of the Follow the Rainbow’s policies and procedures.

**Essential qualities Desirable qualities**
- Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds **Experience of working within a play-based**:

- Understanding the varied needs of children and setting their families Competent in using IT to support play
- Understanding the issues involved in the **Ability to work on own initiative delivery of quality care ** Relevant qualification or willingness to work
- Understanding the issues of equal opportunities towards this
- Provide and facilitate safe and creative play **Appropriate child protection training**:

- Good communication skills Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Able to work as part of a team **Food Hygiene Certificate**
- Sound judgement and common sense
- Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children*_* Para 3.25 of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2021_

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £100.00 per day

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Nursery: 2 years (preferred)
- Childcare: 3 years (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- London (required)
