An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Directorate. The Gynaecology Colposcopy Team are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to work as a Medical Secretary/Administrative Support Officer.

You will be responsible for the management of your own workload, working closely with other Medical Secretaries, Consultants, Nurses and the Management Team.

The post holder daily duties will involve administration of colposcopy referrals, clinics, test results and scheduling and rescheduling clinic appointments.

Ensure all required data is entered into the relevant database in a timely manner.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring clinic letters are produced and communicated to the general practitioners.

The post holder will produce results letters to communicate test results to patients in a timely manner to meet results wait time targets. Schedule follow-up appointments or discharge patients as directed by the clinician’s clinical management and colposcopy guidelines.

Ensure any diagnosed cancer results are brought to the attention of the multidisciplinary team, clinicians and to the lead colposcopy administrator, to take appropriate administrative action in the absence of the clinicians and lead colposcopy administrator.
