Travel Co are a small family run business based in the Northwest that provide passenger transport for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.

**The Job...**

We're looking for a Driver to transport school children for approx. 1hrs in the morning and 1hrs in the afternoon (approx.10 to 12hrs per week), 5 days per week (Monday to Friday, Term Time). At the moment, the route is transporting 1 child & 1 PA from Bootle to Crosby High School, but other children may be added in future.

You will be responsible for the transporting of passengers (children and their Passenger Assistant) from their front door to their School and back again. Passengers will vary with some needing more support than others, but throughout their journey they must feel safe, secure, and enjoy their experience.

You will be working closely with a Passenger Assistant who will be providing support to your passengers during their journey.

As the route will be in Bootle, you must be in/nearby to the area or willing to commute to the vehicle. Please give your postcode when applying.

**Dress Code...**

You will be working in a minibus with moving parts and accessories, so something comfortable, secure, and smart casual is ideal. We don't have a fixed dress code other than this because your ability to move freely around the vehicle safely in clothes you're comfortable in is important to us. Anything more than smart casual (i.e. shirt and tie) would be inappropriate to wear with mechanical vehicle parts in operation.

**What You Need...**

Essential:
Reliability is crucial in this role as without a Driver the vehicle isn’t able to operate, and passengers miss out on their transport. You must be able to ensure your availability during route hours within school term dates. Passengers can take a while to build up their trust in vehicle crews so it's important that they have a consistent driver.

You must also have a caring and thoughtful nature with good patience and understanding for the passengers being transported.

It is essential that you’re willing to complete training to support you in your role with us and hold a D or D1 driving entitlement. Quickest way to check is that you must have passed a driving test in a bus/minibus. You must also have valid Driver CPC card for passenger transport (or willing to obtain one).

You must also be willing to have an Enhanced DBS check and Driver Licence report carried out.

In terms of experience, these points will put you above the rest...
- Driving passenger transport vehicles (16 seater minibus minimum)
- Transporting passengers with special educational needs
- Good knowledge of the Southport road networks

This job would be fitting for someone who is looking for part-time work or is semi-retired with the aim of topping up their funds on a weekly basis. Someone who can commit to the workhours and be very reliable. Someone that wants to help and enjoy working with people that need that little bit more support.

Ideally suited, but not limited to, Ex-Public Service bus drivers as they have the driving qualifications and passenger experience.
