**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a versatile and adaptable Multi-Skilled Operative to join our food manufacturing team. As a key member reporting to the Department Manager, the Multi-Skilled Operative will be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, upholding food safety & quality, leveraging process knowledge and control, driving continuous improvement, and assisting in people management within the production environment.

**Role and Responsibilities**

**Health and Safety**:

- Implement health and safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
- Report safety concerns to the relevant Manager and participate in safety audits.
- Promote adherence to safety guidelines and best practices among colleagues.

**Food Safety & Quality**:

- Monitor and maintain food safety standards to ensure product integrity.
- Assist in quality control processes and report any deviations promptly.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the production line.

**Process Knowledge and Control**:

- Utilize a diverse skill set to contribute to various tasks across the production floor.
- Maintain control over assigned tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
- Identify and resolve skill gaps within your department, in line with manger requirement, current and future business need.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.
- Engage in training and development activities to expand skill set and knowledge.

**People Management**:

- Collaborate effectively with teammates to achieve collective production goals.
- Maintain open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork within the team.
- Support a positive team environment through cooperation and shared success.

**Key Skills and Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Previous experience in a production setting, preferably in food manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Strong multitasking skills, adaptability, and a willingness to take on various responsibilities.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- An ability to lead and mentor others to create a collaborative, positive work environment.

**Desirable**
- A basic understanding of Microsoft packages (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.26-£12.52 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
