We are looking for someone to join our small team as a Jobber/Mounter at our workshop / showroom in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Thomas William jewellery was established in 2016 by Goldsmith Thomas Murphy, who still owns and runs the business today.

This position will consist mainly of bench-work but will also involve dealing with customers in the shop if required, and various other tasks concerned with the day-to-day running of the business.

Our work is mostly handmade using traditional techniques, but we do use CAD software, and the position could involve some work in this field. Repairs and alterations are common and most of our work is bespoke. Commissions include engagement rings, wedding rings, and eternity rings, dress-rings, pendants, earrings etc. We also undertake remodelling work, using customers' own materials to create new pieces.

This position is suited to someone with jewellery trade experience. Ideally, we are seeking an experienced individual in jewellery who is keen to be part of our team and help move the business forward. They will be familiar with traditional jewellery tools, and have experience in making pieces by hand.

**Duties will include**
- Mounting individual items of bespoke jewellery in platinum, gold and occasionally silver
- Remodelling clients’ own jewellery
- Carrying out repairs and alterations
- Carrying out design consultations with prospective customers
- Dealing with sending and receiving assay parcels
- Answering the phone

**Hours**
This is a full time role.
40 hours per week.
Tuesday to Saturday, 9.00am to 5.30pm
6 months probationary period followed by a permanent contract
The successful applicant will also be expected to assist at occasional Wedding Fairs, where we promote our bespoke wedding rings

**Salary**
A starting salary to be negotiated.
Occasional overtime may be available including some Sundays.
