**What you will be doing**:
An opportunity has arisen for a Subcontract Buyer to join the team at Galliford Try.

You will work on our Severn Trent Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Severn Trent Region and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. The role is a hybrid role meaning you can work from home as well as our Offices and Sites across the two regions. At Galliford Try, we are committed to flexible and agile working and other work locations may be considered.

As Sub-Contract Buyer you will be an important part of the Framework Commercial team and will work closely with the Pre-Construction, Commercial, Design and Delivery functions within the wider team, to maximise our short, medium and long-term procurement opportunities and deliver on the key accountabilities identified below.

You will also be the Framework point of interface with the Environment Divisional Supply Chain Manager to ensure we are aligned locally with the rest of the business.

Day-to-day, it will be your role to ensure sub-contract orders are robust, de-risked and meet all internal and Client requirements. Achieve targeted procurement savings for the Framework.

**About You**:
Alongside your proven track recording in succeeding in negotiations with sub-contractors, to be successful in this role, we’d like you to have experience in a similar role, environment or industry. Knowledge of the UK Water Sector supply chain is advantageous.

Your role forms an essential link in the supply chain, involving effective liaison and communication between the client, external consultants and relevant stakeholders. You’ll show flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build and maintain relationships. Demonstrating strong ethical standards with openness and honesty.

Our Environment Business has entrepreneurism and innovation at its heart. We’re looking for somebody with original, market leading ideas to formulate and develop more efficient project methods, leading the way in optimisation and performance, helping to develop any local supply chain initiatives with the Supply Chain Manager.

We’d like you to have an appropriate CIPS qualification or equivalent.
