Defaqto is one of the UK’s most trusted sources of financial product and market intelligence. By bringing together product data, technology and consumer insight we help everyone make smarter, more informed financial choices now, and in the future. And in doing so we hope to raise industry standards, power consumer choice and help the industry meet evolving customer needs.
Due to significant growth, we're expanding our IT Development team and seeking an additional experienced **Automation Tester** to join us. In this role you’ll play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software through meticulous and detailed testing practices.
It’s a really exciting time to join Defaqto... during your first 6 months in role, you’ll be working on a brand-new product and architecture being developed within Defaqto. You’ll be part of at least one project team, working with a BA and Developer. You’ll be involved in the early stages of the project to understand the project scope and help define the key user journeys and scenarios. You’ll then be involved in agreeing the test approach, risks and timescales.
You’ll participate in the project sprint rituals including being part of refinement, planning and retrospectives throughout the sprint cycles. Your focus will be to plan the testing activities with particular emphasis on the automation, to collate existing tests and build a project specific test suite for projects. There will be times that manual testing will also be required. As part of your role you will plan, create and maintain automation tests for the project as well as investigate any build issues and maintain tests for the product as a whole. You'll also be required to feedback on test coverage and help identify improvements to the automation.
Ideally you’ll have the following:
- Strong automation experience using Selenium Web Driver or Playwright
- Solid C# coding skills
- ISTQB Foundation in software testing
- Experience in planning testing activities - both manual and automated
If you're enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated, that's also a big plus. Good communication skills are a must as this role involves lots of collaboration. We’re all about a creative and inquisitive approach and love outside-of-the-box thinking.
