**Product Design Engineer**
**Circa £45,000 + Benefits**
**Tredegar, South Wales**

**Essential Qualifications / Requirements**:
Bachelor degree or HND qualification in Medical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Integrated Engineering or similar / equivalent.

Our client is a market leader in their field. They manufacture and supply a range of products to healthcare providers across the UK and internationally. You would be joining a business that is experiencing a sustained period of growth, which could offer futureprogression opportunities.
**The Job**:
Reporting to the Research & Development Manager, this newly created role will be responsible for the product design and development of a strong pipeline of new product development projects across a range of products taking them from concept to market.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Project management of new product development projects
- Determination of user needs and product requirement specifications
- Utilising a multi-disciplinary project team to achieve project objectives
- A proactive approach to project management to maintain project progress
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, external clients, suppliers, and consultants
- Planning and execution of product testing strategies to evaluate specifications
- Execute design, product, process verification and validation requirements in accordance with company Quality Management System (ISO 13485)
- Preparation of technical documents such as component specifications, risk management reports and technical reports for incorporation into product technical files
- Creating design models, drawings, and schematics in 2D and 3D CAD
- Planning and execution of product testing strategies

**The Person**:

- A high level of technical competency both analytical and practical
- A minimum of five years postgraduate industrial experience in the design and development of mechanical / electro-mechanical products
- Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, medical devices preferable but not essential
- A logical and pragmatic approach to the product development process including the solution of technical problems with a capacity for original thinking
- Strong project management skills with the ability to present at various levels (verbally and visually)
- The ability to work alone and unsupervised or as part of a closely integrated project team
- An enthusiastic and organised approach to employment
- Excellent verbal / written communication and PC skills (MS Office)
- Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD

**The Location**: Tredegar, South Wales
**Working hours**: 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
